Haley Bonar has been crafting plying her immaculate indie trade for over a decade, developing her sound into the assured, crunching rock sound we are treated to on this latest release. 'Kimset Kill', with its wonderful accompanying visuals, sees the Canadian-born, Minnesotan show off her darker, heavier side as driving guitar and drums provide the bed for her caramel, yet gently haunting, dream-like vocal to tell a tale of "growing-up too fast, yet never growing up at all", as described by video director Nicole Brending. The wonderfully contagious cut is taken from her upcoming new album Impossible Dream, expected 5 August on Memphis Industries and ahead of October live dates across the UK. -G.O'B
